MEMO will be hosting 9 concerts in 2019, showcasing a variety of music for people of all ages at the Gazebo in the center of Town next to the Public Library. People attending these concerts often picnic on the grass while listening to the music. There will be no rain-dates. See below for notice of cancellation.

June 13 – MEDFIELD HIGH SCHOOL JAZZ BAND – Cancelled due to rain
Medfield High School’s top jazz band – performed several times at both the National Charles Mingus High School Bigband Competition and the Essentially Ellington National High School Bigband Competition hosted by Wynton Marsalis. In recent years, the band has toured China and New Orleans, as well as performed on Boston’s Esplanade. Joined by MHS Band Alumni for Doug Olsen farewell. With it’s 14th CD released this spring, they will entertain any jazz enthusiast!

June 20 – Jeri Bergonzi Jazz Quartet – Cancelled Due to Rain
The Jeri Bergonzi Quartet pays homage to jazz great Shirley Horne in a tribute highlighting her arrangements of the great American songbook. Enjoy an evening of old chestnuts like “East of the Sun”, “Come Fly With Me” and “You Don’t Know Me”.

June 27 – The Grass Gypsys
This eclectic local band has toured throughout America playing their original roots music. Their music ranges from upbeat rock n roll to country ballad to soulful jazz. They have released 3 full-length albums and always bring a toe-tapping performance.

July 11 – Songs for Ceilidh
A local Celtic band, Songs for Ceilidh, pronounced “Kay-Lee”, blends Celtic classics with Cape Breton inspired originals. They’ve shared the stage with “The Glengarry Boys” and “The Town Pants”. Their name says it all, ceilidh, a high energy, foot stomping party!

July 18 – Route 109
Playing in plain view of their namesake, Medfield’s “not-your-average” cover band plays hits from the 80’s to the 10’s with fresh energy and enthusiasm. No performance is the same as Route 109 and musical guests creatively mix indie ballads, Euro-pop fever and classic songs for a summertime feeling that brings you back to college days.

July 25 –BACK PAGES
A diverse rock cover band consisting of 3 musicians, including Medfield resident Steve McCrossan, who have been working in the genre for over 4 decades. With an extensive song list of rock classics performed with musical precision, Back Pages is sure to please any audience.

August 1 – The Stacey Peasley Band
One of Metrowest’s favorite family acts. Their catchy original music has garnered awards from the Parents’ Choice Foundation, NAPPA and Creative Child Magazine, as well as airplay on Sirius XM’s Kids’ Place Live and children’s radio programs across the country. Adults and children alike will sing and dance to their favorite Stacey Peasley songs.

August 8 – Shane Wood Jazz Trio
Come check out the smooth Jazz with Medfield resident, Shane Wood on piano and vocals, Neil Kruszkowski on saxophone and vocals and Bruce Owens on drums. The Trio plays a unique blend of jazz arrangements, including songs from contemporary artists and classic composers as well as original compositions.

August 15 – The Keith Curbow Studio Band
This group is comprised of jazz musicians playing the kind of popular music horns play best – funk. Fun and entertaining favorites from bands like Stevie Wonder, Tower of Power and Earth Wind and Fire are fun for the whole family. Comprised of local jazz artists, They are a version of KC and the Sunshine Band with a modern twist and jazz influence.
